Missouri to Execute Man Despite Unusual Pleas From Victim’s Fam and Prosecutors
The Innocence ProjectMissouri is set to execute 55-year-old death row inmate Marcellus Williams on Tuesday evening — despite pleas from prosecutors and even his victim’s family. Missouri’s governor, Mike Parson, and its supreme court said Monday that sufficient evidence exists for the state to take Williams’ life for the 1998 stabbing murder of Felicia Gayle, a social worker and former reporter at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.The state’s decision to push forward with the execution is among the more controversial in recent years, with the same prosecutor’s office that convicted Williams now sounding the alarm he may actually be innocent.Read more at The Daily Beast.

‘Only Murders in the Building’: Is There Another Killer?
Patrick Harbron/HuluAfter last week’s insane cliffhanger, Bev Melon (Molly Shannon) starts off “Adaptation” with a lot of explaining to do. Why was she caught in Sazz’s near-abandoned warehouse, brandishing a gun and threatening to blow the trio’s brains out? The answer, it turns out, is that this was all a misunderstanding. When Charles (Steve Martin) asks outright if she killed Sazz, Melon answers, “I did not. But I think someone in the movie may have.” She explains how she was at a party for powerful women in Los Angeles during the time of Sazz’s death, and how Sazz had left her an ominous voicemail at 11:07 pm that same night. Sazz says in the voicemail, “You need to call me, okay? There’s a problem with your Only Murders movie. A big problem.”Melon explains how she initially ignored the message because it was inconvenient for the movie production; once she found out Sazz had been killed, however, she started snooping around for clues that might help her avoid a potential production catastrophe. The scene ends with Melon telling the trio that she finds investigating boring, and has decided to leave the rest of it up to them.Read more at The Daily Beast.

Vince McMahon Lashes Out at ‘Deceptive’ Netflix Doc
Ethan Miller/Getty ImagesWWE co-founder and alleged sex criminal Vince McMahon said he doesn’t regret participating in a Netflix documentary series about his life and extraordinary influence on the wrestling industry that he claims “misrepresented” his story.“A lot has been left out entirely in an effort to leave viewers intentionally confused,” he wrote, in a statement posted on X. “The producers use typical editing tricks with out of context footage and dated soundbites etc. to distort the viewers' perception and support a deceptive narrative.” McMahon suggests the producers of Mr. McMahon blurred the line between the real him and “Mr. McMahon,” the cartoonishly evil, fourth-wall-breaking CEO character he played on WWE broadcasts—the character even counted Donald Trump, who once forcibly shaved his head, among his foes.Read more at The Daily Beast.
