El BBVA anuncia una opa hostil por el Sabadell y descarta mejorar la oferta rechazada por su rival

Tambores de guerra en la banca: primera opa hostil en el sector desde 1987. Y como entonces, de futuro incierto. BBVA ha anunciado a primera hora de este jueves su intención de lanzar una oferta pública de adquisición por el Sabadell, apenas tres días después de que el consejo de administración de la entidad catalana rechazase la operación amistosa ofrecida por su rival y apostase por seguir en solitario, al considerar que la propuesta "infravalora significativamente" su entidad. Pese a ello, el segundo banco español ha decidido tratar de convencer a los accionistas del cuarto con una oferta que no mejora las condiciones económicas rechazadas por los administradores (prima del 30% y valoración del Sabadell en 12.284 millones de euros, según la cotización previa al anuncio de la oferta la semana pasada). Su presidente, Carlos Torres Vila, ha ratificado que "no hay espacio" para mejorarla.
